About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Religious Education & Geography Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Hemel Hempstead from September 2026. This is a full-time position teaching Religious Education and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and knowledgeable practitioner with strong classroom management skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The school is looking for an individual who can inspire pupils, raise attainment, and foster a positive learning environment where all students can achieve their full potential.

This role is suitable for both UK-trained teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and overseas-trained teachers with qualifications recognised as equivalent to UK teaching standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education and Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback and targeted support.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas teaching qualification recognised as equivalent in the UK.
  • Previous experience teaching Religious Education and/or Geography within a secondary setting.
  • Experience teaching Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A thorough understanding of the secondary curriculum.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A professional, proactive, and reflective approach to teaching.
