Behaviour Support Assistant – Eastbourne
Pay: £13.70–£15.00 per hour
Hours: Term-time, 8:30am–3:30pm (flexible hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent / Fixed-term (depending on school needs)

A primary school in Eastbourne, East Sussex is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to provide vital pastoral support to pupils, helping them overcome behavioural barriers and fully engage in learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group behaviour support to pupils

  • Implement behaviour plans and support strategies

  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive coping skills

  • Support children who may display challenging behaviour

  • Liaise with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external agencies

  • Monitor, record, and report on behaviour and progress

  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Skills & Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school or behaviour support setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures

  • Relevant training in behaviour support, SEN, or childcare is desirable but not essential
