Learning Mentor – Peacehaven
Pay: £13.70–£15.00 per hour
Hours: Term-time, 8:30am–3:30pm (flexible hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent / Fixed-term (depending on school needs)

A primary school in Peacehaven, East Sussex is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to provide vital pastoral and educational support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one or small group mentoring to pupils who need additional support

Help pupils develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills

Support pupils with learning challenges or special educational needs

Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to coordinate support

Monitor and report on pupils’ progress

Promote positive behaviour and confidence in the classroom

Assist with interventions and school projects aimed at improving student wellbeing
Skills & Requirements:

Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Empathy, patience, and the ability to motivate young people

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic knowledge of safeguarding procedures

A relevant qualification in mentoring, education, or childcare is desirable but not essential
