Special Needs Support Assistant – Andover

Location: Specialist School in the New Forest

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary 2 weeks  (with potential to extend) Pay: £82 – £95 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Must have – a Drivers License and access to a car

A popular school on the outskirts of Andover is looking for a temporary SEND Teaching Assistant to start work with them asap to work both 1:1 and in small group settings.

The Role:

 This role involves supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH and other learning or developmental challenges. You’ll work both one-to-one and within the classroom, helping children access learning. Being a good communicator with teachers and other support staff is key.

What We’re Looking For We’re keen to hear from candidates who:

  • Have experience supporting children with complex needs
  • Are confident working within a classroom setting
  • Can work effectively as part of a team
  • Are patient, adaptable and responsive to individual pupil needs
  • Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2 – desirable but not essential)

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with complex needs
  • Assist with classroom routines and learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement
  • Support small group work and individual interventions
  • Work closely with teaching staff and contribute to wider school life
