Are you a dedicated and compassionate professional looking to make a real difference in supporting young people with additional needs? Supply Desk are seeking an experienced HLTA to join a supportive provision within a well‑established secondary school in Fareham.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled HLTA to work within the school’s specialist provision, supporting students—primarily those with autism—to access learning and thrive in a nurturing, structured environment.

The role involves:

  • Working closely with the Head of Provision to deliver tailored support
  • Supporting students with autism and other additional needs in small groups and 1:1
  • Helping students regulate, engage, and access their personalised learning pathways
  • Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive environment consistent with the school’s values

This full‑time position runs from March until the end of July 2026, with strong potential for continued work into the new academic year depending on school needs.


Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within the provision
• Assist with planning and delivering small group interventions
• Build positive relationships with students who require additional support
• Promote emotional regulation, communication and independence
• Work collaboratively with the SEND and pastoral teams
• Follow school policies and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment


What We’re Looking For

• HLTA qualification or relevant experience
• Experience supporting students with autism (desirable)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A patient, calm and adaptable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
