Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: East Sussex
Pay: £100 – £130 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role

Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience or continue your career in education with greater flexibility? We are recruiting proactive and reliable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across East Sussex.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged with pre-set work. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, experienced cover staff, or subject specialists who are confident leading lessons in their area of expertise.

Key Duties

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre-prepared lesson materials.
• Deliver cover in your subject specialism where applicable.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure pupils remain engaged and complete the work set.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson progress and behaviour.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and promote pupil wellbeing at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable).
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confident leading a full class independently.
• Subject specialism (desirable but not essential).
• A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Professional, flexible, and reliable approach to work.
