Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

By Year 5, expectations increase.
Structure and consistency keep progress on track.

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will guide pupils through more advanced learning while maintaining strong routines and support.

Key responsibilities
Teach Year 5 curriculum across core subjects
Support reading comprehension and writing development
Deliver structured maths lessons
Prepare pupils for upper KS2
Track progress and provide targeted support
Maintain classroom routines

The classroom environment
Lessons are structured and consistent
Pupils understand expectations
Behaviour is stable
Learning builds steadily

Skills and experience
Experience in KS2 teaching
Strong classroom management
Organisation and planning
Clear communication

What success looks like
Pupil progress is consistent
Confidence increases
Classroom routines remain strong

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with KS2 experience
