Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Maidenhead to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a nurturing school environment and make a real difference in supporting pupils’ learning and development.

This role would suit a patient, caring, and proactive individual who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils’ learning, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions. You will play a key role in helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils’ learning in the classroom, both 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and preparation of resources
  • Providing targeted support for pupils with additional needs (SEN)
  • Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress to the class teacher
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
  • A patient, supportive, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
  • Ability to work full-time in Maidenhead from September

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
