Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Hazlemere to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher to join a nurturing school environment and support pupils as they progress through upper KS2, building strong foundations ahead of their final year in primary education.

This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with a solid understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and helping pupils reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, creating a positive classroom environment where pupils feel challenged, supported, and inspired to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum
• Supporting pupils’ academic progress across core and foundation subjects
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Encouraging pupil confidence, independence, and a love of learning
• Providing targeted support for pupils of varying abilities, including SEN
• Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and staff
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A creative and engaging teaching style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work full-time in Hazlemere from September

Desirable:

• Experience in upper KS2 (Year 5 or Year 6)
• Knowledge of effective assessment and pupil progress tracking
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
