Contract: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
Salary: £14 – £16 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: Southampton

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm, forward‑thinking Nursery school within a Primary school. The Nursery provision is relatively new with 4 new classes for children aged 2-4 with new resources and experienced staff looking to increase their level 3 Nursery practitioners.

This position is ideal for someone who brings patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to their work. You’ll be joining a school that values kindness, high expectations, and a belief in every child’s potential—making this a genuinely rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Nursery children in their first steps in education
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.
  • Providing learning opportunities which are child led and inspire awe and wonder
  • Able to use outdoor learning environments
  • Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.

What We’re Looking For

  • A level 3 Teaching Assistant with experience of working in a nursery setting
  • Some experience using tapestry would be an advantage
  • An empathetic approach that fosters self-belief and confidence
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
