Higher level Teaching Assistant – throughout KS2- Southampton
Start Date: April 2026
Contract: Long-term with the potential to become permanent
Salary: £14 – £16 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Location: Southampton

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced HLTA to work in an Ofsted rated “Good” school with a fantastic reputation for inclusion. It would be an advantage if you had experience with SATS and interventions for SPAG, Maths, Reading and Writing.

You will be supporting throughout KS2 for interventions, small group work, 1:1 work and stepping in to teach for planned or unplanned absences of staff.

This is a rewarding role where patience, empathy, and strong communication skills will make a real difference to children.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting interventions
• Providing 1:1 or small group support where required.
• Assisting teaching staff with adapting learning resources to suit individual needs.
• Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.
• Supporting the smooth running of the classroom and fostering a positive learning environment.
• Standing in for teachers when needed to teach whole classes
