Maths Teacher (Full‑Time or Part‑Time)

Location: Independent secondary school in the Winchester area Start Date: September Contract: One‑term placement initially (September–December) Pay Range: £168 – £250 per day (dependent on experience) Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (flexible for part‑time applicants)

Overview

A leading independent school in the Winchester area is seeking a Maths Teacher to join their highly academic and forward‑thinking Mathematics department from September. This is a one‑term role initially, running until December, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach a broad and challenging Maths curriculum, including GCSE preparation
  • Promote intellectual curiosity, resilience, and independent learning
  • Use a mix of traditional and innovative teaching methods to support progress
  • Assess, track, and support student achievement effectively
  • Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Maths department and wider school

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and ideally KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching a range of mathematical topics
  • Ability to inspire curiosity and independent thinking in learners
  • Good classroom management and communication skills
  • A proactive, reflective, and collaborative approach
