Role: Learning Mentor

Salary: £90 – £120 per day

Key Responsibilities

• Provide structured 1:1 and small‑group mentoring to help pupils develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to boost engagement, motivation, and resilience.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and SENCOs to implement personalised mentoring plans.
• Track, monitor, and provide feedback on pupil progress to staff and parents/carers.
• Support pupils in developing self-esteem, emotional regulation, independent learning, and study habits.
• Contribute to targeted interventions designed to remove barriers to learning.

Person Specification

• Experience working with children or young people in a school, mentoring, pastoral, or youth support role (advantageous but not essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Calm, patient, empathetic, and solution-focused, especially when dealing with challenging situations.
• Passionate about helping pupils make positive progress in all areas of their development.
• Adaptable and able to respond effectively to a wide range of pupil needs.
