Salary: £14 – £16 per hour (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full time 08:30 – 4:30
Location: Gosport

About the school:

We are seeking a Year R Teaching Assistant to support an Ofsted “Good” rated school in the heart of Gosport. The school operates as a two‑form entry setting, creating a vibrant and diverse learning community. Its ethos is rooted in nurturing each child’s potential through compassion, respect, and a strong sense of belonging. The values promoted there encourage pupils to grow academically, socially, and spiritually, shaping confident young people with a clear moral compass.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supporting 4- and 5-year-olds in their first steps of learning  
• Being creative and modelling learning and playing  
• Supporting children in their first English and maths steps
• Encouraging students to build independence, confidence, and resilience.

What We’re Looking For

• Adapting resources and learning to support those that need extra support
• Someone with experience of working with children
• Intuitive, proactive and enthusiastic
• An empathetic approach that fosters self-belief and confidence
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
