Department Overview

This secondary school is seeking a Computer Science Teacher who can deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students to develop essential digital skills, logical thinking, and computational problem‑solving.

The role requires a teacher who can balance theory with application, ensuring students understand both the concepts behind computing and their practical use in real‑world contexts.

Responsibilities

• Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4
• Deliver lessons covering algorithms, programming, data representation, and computer systems
• Introduce students to coding using age‑appropriate programming languages
• Support students in developing resilience and perseverance when solving problems
• Plan lessons that build skills progressively over time
• Monitor student progress using assessment data
• Prepare KS4 students for GCSE assessments
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom focus

Required Skills

• Experience teaching Computer Science or ICT at secondary level
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to explain concepts clearly
• Confident classroom and behaviour management
• Organised approach to planning and assessment
• Willingness to contribute to curriculum development
