Job Title: Art Teacher

Location: Aylesbury

Start: September 2026

Full Time: Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £29,344-£44,919

This school is seeking an Art & Design Teacher who can inspire creativity while maintaining clear structure and high expectations. Art is viewed as both a practical and academic subject, requiring discipline, reflection, and technical skill.

You will teach KS3 and KS4 Art, guiding students through skills development, creative exploration, and final outcomes.

Your responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging Art & Design lessons across KS3–KS4
  • Teach drawing, painting, mixed media, and design processes
  • Support students in developing portfolios and coursework
  • Promote independence and personal expression
  • Manage classroom resources and materials effectively
  • Assess practical work and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain an organised, purposeful studio environment

Who We’re Hoping to Meet:

  • QTS is desirable, but unqualified teachers and applicants with relevant education or experience are welcome to apply.
  • Has experience working with children or young people and genuinely enjoys supporting them through practical, hands‑on learning.
  • Experience teaching secondary Art & Design
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Ability to motivate a wide range of learners
  • Clear expectations around behaviour and effort
