SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary & Secondary

Location: Haywards Heath & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time – Flexible Days Daily Rate: £89.05 – £110 Hours: School hours (typically 08:30–15:30)

We’re looking for SEN support assistants to join our team, working across a range of primary and secondary settings. You’ll be supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them feel confident, included and able to access learning.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs

  • Providing one‑to‑one or small‑group support

  • Helping pupils regulate emotions, stay focused and feel safe

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapted activities

  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

  • Creating a calm, positive and inclusive environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, youth work or similar)

  • A patient, understanding and nurturing approach

  • Confidence working with pupils who may have autism, ADHD, SEMH needs or learning difficulties

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Someone reliable, adaptable and committed to helping pupils thrive
