Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Marlow (SL7) area to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher to join a nurturing school environment and support pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.

This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with a strong understanding of the Year 4 curriculum, who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils’ continued development in confidence and independence.

The Role

As a Year 4 Teacher, you will play a key role in consolidating pupils’ learning in Lower KS2, building on prior knowledge and preparing them for the increased expectations of upper Key Stage 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Lower Key Stage 2 national curriculum
• Supporting pupils’ progress in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths) and foundation subjects
• Developing pupils’ confidence, independence, and resilience in their learning
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Providing targeted support for pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN
• Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
• Strong understanding of the Lower KS2 curriculum (Year 4 desirable)
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A creative, engaging, and structured teaching style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work full-time in the Marlow (SL7) area from September

Desirable

• Experience teaching Year 4
• Knowledge of progression within Lower Key Stage 2
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
• Understanding of assessment and pupil progress tracking
