MLD Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start

Are you a nurturing and patient individual with a passion for supporting children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)? A friendly and inclusive primary school in Slough is seeking a dedicated MLD Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

The school provides a supportive learning environment where pupils with additional needs are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and academic progress through tailored support and structured routines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with MLD, helping them access the curriculum and build key skills
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs and learning styles
  • Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and communication development
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement and review personalised learning plans
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in a calm and structured classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with MLD, SLD, or additional learning needs (in education or care settings)
  • Be patient, encouraging, and committed to inclusive education
  • Communicate effectively and work well within a team
  • Be confident using differentiated resources and assistive tools
  • Be open to ongoing training and development
