Salary: £34,398 – £52,490 per year

Where confident beginnings lead to lifelong learning… and you help set the foundations.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact at the very start of a child’s educational journey.

The Role

The Reception year is a vital bridge between early development and structured learning. In this role, you will create a warm, engaging, and well-organised classroom environment where children feel safe, confident, and inspired to learn.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a stimulating, play-based learning environment aligned with the EYFS framework

  • Encouraging early communication skills, independence, and positive learning behaviours
  • Observing, assessing, and tracking progress to meet individual learning needs
  • Building strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers

The Ideal Candidate

You understand that Reception is about more than teaching—it’s about building confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

You will ideally:

  • Have experience teaching Reception or EYFS, or a strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Hold QTS (unqualified teachers with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply)
  • Be patient, creative, and engaging
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management with a nurturing approach
  • Thrive as part of a supportive and collaborative team

What’s in It for You?

  • A welcoming and supportive school community in Stokenchurch
  • Full-time, stable position starting September
  • Competitive salary
  • Dedicated support from your own Supply Desk consultant
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development and career progression
