Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), using a balance of structured teaching and child-led learning.
  • Support pupils’ early development across prime and specific areas, including communication and language, physical development, and personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster curiosity, independence, and resilience through engaging indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports early learning and well-being.
  • Promote positive behaviour and strong routines to support a smooth transition into school life.
  • Support early literacy and numeracy development through phonics, play-based learning, and targeted interventions.
  • Observe, assess, and track pupil progress in line with EYFS frameworks, using this to inform planning and next steps.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers to support children’s development both in school and at home.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching within EYFS or Reception is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early child development.
  • Confident in delivering phonics and early years assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about early education and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment with strong behaviour management.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
