Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Plan and deliver a broad and balanced PE curriculum, including a range of sports and physical activities.
  • Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
  • Organise and contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and school competitions.
  • Encourage participation and inclusion for students of all abilities.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for physical education and sport.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students with diverse abilities and interests.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular sports and school events.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
