Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Portsmouth & Southampton

Location: Portsmouth & Southampton
Hours: Full-time / Part-time (term-time)
Start: ASAP / September
Pay: £85 – £105 per day

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to step up into a more advanced role?
Do you have the confidence to lead learning and support pupils across a range of subjects?

We are seeking capable and motivated HLTAs to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in the Portsmouth and Southampton areas. This is an excellent opportunity to take on additional responsibility, including leading lessons and supporting teachers in delivering high-quality education.

These roles offer a mix of day-to-day, short-term and long-term placements, giving you flexibility and the opportunity to progress your career.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons when required
• Supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum
• Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment
• Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEND
• Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
• Helping to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Experience working within a school setting
• Confidence leading a classroom independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A proactive and adaptable approach
• Ability to support a range of learning needs
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
