EYFS Class Teacher – Southampton

Start Date: September 2026  Contract: 5 days per week, 8:30–3:30 — class share considered Pay: Paid to scale (£168–£233 per day)

EYFS teachers are in high demand across Southampton, and this respected primary school is looking for an experienced practitioner who can bring warmth, expertise and creativity to their Early Years team. About the Role

This position involves full class teacher responsibilities within a well‑resourced EYFS setting. The contract runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning, teaching and assessing using Seesaw and Tapestry

• Working closely with a year‑group partner and a full‑time LSA

• Delivering high‑quality continuous provision

• Making full use of a large outdoor exploratory area to support EYFS learning goals

• Qualified and experienced EYFS Teacher

• Confident in establishing routines and expectations

• Able to work collaboratively as part of a team

• Skilled in adapting teaching for a range of needs, including SEND

Requirements

• UK‑recognised teaching qualification

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

• Compliance with DfE and Safer Recruitment standards
