Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Burnham to recruit a passionate and reflective Religious Studies (RS) Teacher for a full-time position starting September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school that values open-minded discussion, critical thinking, and inclusive learning.

The Role

Religious Studies plays a vital role in helping students develop empathy, moral reasoning, and an understanding of the diverse world around them. As an RS Teacher, you will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to explore beliefs, ethics, and philosophical questions.

You will:

  • Teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
  • Deliver engaging lessons covering world religions, ethics, and philosophy
  • Encourage respectful debate, discussion, and critical reflection
  • Plan, assess, and track pupil progress effectively
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively within the humanities department and wider school team

Requirements

You don’t just teach Religious Studies — you inspire thoughtful conversation and understanding.

You will ideally:

  • Hold QTS, PGCE, ECT status, or an equivalent qualification
  • Have experience teaching Religious Studies or Humanities at secondary level
  • Be confident delivering engaging, balanced, and accessible lessons
  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and pupil wellbeing
  • Bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and strong classroom presence
