About the Role

We are looking to recruit a creative and motivated Design & Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Portsmouth. This role will begin in September 2026 and continue through to July 2027, teaching Design & Technology to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

You will be responsible for delivering practical and engaging lessons that encourage students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. The department is well-resourced, and you will have access to workshop facilities and materials to support hands-on learning. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), and overseas-trained teachers with relevant UK curriculum experience.

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Design & Technology in a UK secondary school setting.

  • Confident delivering practical lessons in a workshop or classroom environment.

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.

  • Experience teaching KS3 and KS4.

  • A positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
