Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential).
  • Teach a range of sports and physical activities, promoting participation, fitness, and skill development.
  • Plan and deliver stimulating schemes of work that inspire students to lead active and healthy lifestyles.
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship through structured activities and competition.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students to participate in physical activity.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
  • Contribute to extracurricular sports clubs, teams, fixtures, and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and promote a positive and active learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student achievement and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical education disciplines.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, alongside strong communication and organisation.
  • Commitment to promoting health, fitness, and wellbeing.
  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular sport and school life.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
