Supply Desk is a nationwide education recruitment agency specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We work with a wide network of schools across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, and West Sussex, providing both day-to-day supply and long-term staffing solutions.

We are currently seeking reliable and resilient 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistants to work in schools across Eastbourne on an ad hoc basis. This role involves supporting pupils who may require additional behavioural or emotional support to help them access learning in the classroom.

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children who need additional guidance and encouragement in school? We are recruiting Behaviour Support Assistants to work closely with individual pupils, helping them stay engaged, focused, and confident in their learning.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in behaviour support, SEN support, youth work, or mentoring, and for those who are patient, calm, and committed to making a positive difference in a child’s school experience.

Placements are typically on a day-to-day basis, with opportunities for longer-term roles within supportive school environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with behavioural or emotional needs.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and support the pupil in managing emotions and challenges.

  • Help pupils remain engaged in classroom activities and learning tasks.

  • Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Build positive relationships to support confidence and social development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or mentoring).

  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies.

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.

  • Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

Why Join Supply Desk?

  • Competitive hourly pay of £13.70 – £15.20 per hour.

  • Flexible working to fit around your schedule.

  • Opportunities to gain experience in a variety of schools.

  • Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £150 collectively.

If you are looking for flexible and rewarding work supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis in Eastbourne, we would love to hear from you. Apply today to join our supportive team.

Supply Desk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS, including a children’s barred list check and, where applicable, a vulnerable adults barred list check, is required for all successful candidates.
