Reception Supply Teacher – Horsham

Location: Horsham & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time – Flexible Days Salary: Paid to scale – M1 to UPS3 or £130–£150 per day Hours: School hours (typically 08:30–15:30)

Teaching Early Years with Flexibility and Variety

This Reception supply teaching role is ideal for Early Years specialists who enjoy supporting young learners while keeping a flexible schedule. Whether you love teaching early phonics, supporting play‑based learning, or helping children build confidence and independence, this role allows you to teach in a way that fits around your life.

We’re looking for nurturing, enthusiastic and adaptable Reception teachers to join our supply team across Horsham and the surrounding areas. Each placement offers a new classroom, new routines and fresh opportunities to make a meaningful impact in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering engaging, play‑based lessons in Reception classes

  • Supporting early phonics, literacy, numeracy and social development

  • Creating a warm, inclusive and well‑managed learning environment

  • Adapting quickly to different schools, routines and class needs

  • Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting pupil wellbeing

  • Working collaboratively with EYFS staff and following school policies

What We’re Looking For

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching in Reception or across the Early Years Foundation Stage

  • Strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child‑centred learning

  • A nurturing, patient and creative approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Someone reliable, adaptable and confident in new environments
