Art Teacher – Secondary School (KS3 & KS4)

Location: Fareham
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term cover until July 2027 (potential to go permanent)
Pay: £168 – £230 per day (dependent on experience)

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Art Teacher to join the school from September 2026. You will deliver engaging and high-quality Art lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering creativity, confidence, and a passion for visual arts. The role involves contributing to a vibrant Art department that values innovation, high standards, and inclusive practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver inspiring Art lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school’s values

  • Encourage creativity and experimentation across a range of media and techniques

  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

  • Contribute to extracurricular activities such as art clubs, exhibitions, and whole-school projects

  • Uphold the school’s ethos of respect, aspiration, and personal development


Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related subject

  • Experience teaching Art at KS3 and KS4

  • Strong subject knowledge, including a range of artistic techniques and styles

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills

  • A commitment to nurturing creativity and supporting student development
