DRAMA TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Drama lessons don’t need to be loud to be effective.
They need direction, structure, and purpose.

As a Secondary Drama Teacher, you will teach KS3 and KS4 students performance skills, confidence, and communication through structured and well-managed lessons.

Key responsibilities
Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4
Plan structured practical lessons
Teach performance, movement, and expression
Support students in analysing and evaluating performances
Prepare students for GCSE coursework and assessments
Manage classroom behaviour in active lessons
Maintain a safe and controlled working space

The classroom environment
Lessons are purposeful and organised
Students stay on task during practical work
Movement is controlled and structured
Participation is encouraged across all abilities

Skills and experience
Experience teaching Drama or strong performance background
Confidence managing active classroom environments
Strong organisation and leadership
Clear communication

What success looks like
Students participate confidently
Practical work improves over time
Lessons feel controlled and productive
Behaviour remains consistent

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with acting, theatre, or performance backgrounds
