Food Technology Teacher – Secondary School (KS3 & KS4)

Location: Fareham
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term (with potential for a permanent position)
Pay: £168 – £250 per day (depending on experience)

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Food Technology Teacher to join the team from September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop key life skills, confidence in the kitchen, and an understanding of nutrition and healthy living.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and well-structured Food Technology lessons

  • Teach a variety of cooking methods, food preparation skills, and nutritional principles

  • Ensure a safe and hygienic working environment at all times

  • Track student progress and provide meaningful feedback

  • Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere where all students can succeed

  • Take part in enrichment opportunities such as cooking clubs or themed events

  • Support the wider values and ethos of the school


Requirements

  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • A relevant degree (e.g. Food Technology, Nutrition, Hospitality)

  • Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level

  • Good subject knowledge, particularly around food safety and healthy eating

  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • A genuine enthusiasm for practical teaching and student development
