Position: Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors (All Subjects)
Location: Hailsham, Heathfield & Eastbourne
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
Contract Type: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term Supply (Part-Time & Full-Time Available)
Start Date: Immediate and September 2026 starts available
Daily Rate: £100-130 per day for Cover Supervisor daily supply |£130-150 per day for Teacher daily supply | Paid to scale for long-term roles with PPA

About Us

Supply Desk are a nationwide education recruitment company specialising in Primary, SEND, and Secondary education. We place teaching staff in day-to-day and long-term placements across Primary and Secondary schools throughout East Sussex, including Hailsham, Heathfield and Eastbourne.

We are currently seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across these areas. Applications are welcomed from both qualified teachers and experienced cover supervisors looking to work within their specialist subject areas.

About the Role

Whether you are seeking day-to-day supply, short-term cover, or long-term roles, we can offer both part-time and full-time opportunities to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and structured lessons within your specialist subject (for qualified teachers).
• Supervise pre-set lessons and manage classroom behaviour (for cover supervisors).
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and follow school policies.
• Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support pupils’ learning and engagement in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Communicate effectively with staff and pupils.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience as a Cover Supervisor
• Strong subject knowledge in your specialist area
• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK.
• Competitive daily rates.
• Paid to scale for long-term roles with PPA time included.
