English Teacher – Maternity Cover (Andover)

Start Date: After May Half Term 2026 Contract: Full-time, Maternity Cover until December 2026 Location: Andover area Pay: £160 – £250 per day (dependent on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join the school for a maternity cover beginning after May half term and running until December 2026.

You will teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons that support students in developing strong literacy skills, analytical thinking and a love of reading and writing. You will be joining a supportive English department within a school that values high‑quality teaching, structured curriculum pathways and a collaborative staff culture.

This is a full‑time teaching commitment for the duration of the maternity cover.

Ideal Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
• Have recent experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
• Can confidently deliver the KS3–KS4 English curriculum
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
• Are passionate about fostering students’ enthusiasm for literature and language
• Work well as part of a supportive, values‑driven team
