Maths Teacher (Full-Time or Part-Time) – Dorset

Start Date: ASAP – Summer Term Contract: Long-term (covering sickness) Location: Dorset Pay Range: £168 – £250 per day (dependent on experience) Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (flexible for part-time applicants)

Overview

A vibrant and ambitious secondary school in Dorset is seeking a Maths Teacher to join their team as soon as possible for a long‑term sickness cover. This opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers, with flexibility for full‑time or part‑time working.

You will teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, contributing to a school that is passionate about excellence in learning and committed to helping young people achieve the highest possible outcomes. The school has high expectations, encourages aspiration, and promotes a strong sense of independence, respect and community among its students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Prepare students for GCSE Maths through clear explanations and structured practice
  • Use assessment to track progress and inform teaching
  • Establish strong routines and promote positive behaviour for learning
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, intervention and enrichment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and wider school

Requirements

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and ideally KS4
  • Strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills
  • Effective classroom management
  • A proactive, reflective and collaborative approach
  • Applications welcomed from both ECTs and experienced teachers
