Full-Time SEND Teaching Assistant – Ringmer

Supply Desk is a well‑established education recruitment specialist supporting Primary, Secondary and SEND settings across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove. We are currently looking for committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to join schools in Ringmer and the surrounding villages.

About the Role

If you are passionate about helping children with additional needs flourish in their learning, this full‑time role could be the perfect fit. We are seeking adaptable and nurturing SEND TAs to work across a variety of primary and specialist settings in Ringmer.

This position offers consistent hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships and provide stable support to pupils.

You will be working with children who may have autism spectrum conditions (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Working alongside teachers and SENCOs, you will help deliver personalised support that enables pupils to access learning and make meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support tailored to individual needs

  • Adapt learning materials to suit a range of abilities

  • Promote independence, confidence and positive social interaction

  • Support the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

  • Use positive behaviour strategies to maintain a calm learning environment

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing school setting

  • Follow safeguarding policies at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND

  • Understanding of needs such as ASC, ADHD and SEMH

  • A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • A reliable, professional and flexible attitude
