Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bourne End (SL8) to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Key Stage 2 teacher to join a nurturing school environment and support pupils as they transition from Key Stage 1 into Key Stage 2.

This role would suit a passionate and adaptable teacher with a strong understanding of the Lower Key Stage 2 curriculum, who is committed to delivering engaging lessons and helping pupils build confidence as they progress in their learning journey.

The Role

As a Year 3 Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils through an important transition year, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum while fostering independence and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Lower Key Stage 2 national curriculum
• Supporting pupils’ progress in core subjects (reading, writing, and maths) and foundation subjects
• Helping pupils adapt to increased expectations in KS2 learning and structure
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and interventions
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Encouraging pupil independence, confidence, and a love of learning
• Providing targeted support for pupils of varying abilities, including SEN
• Building strong relationships with parents, carers, and staff
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Desirable
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2
• Strong understanding of the Lower KS2 curriculum
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A creative, engaging, and structured teaching style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work full-time in Bourne End (SL8) from September

Desirable:

• Experience in Year 3 or Lower KS2
• Understanding of the transition from KS1 to KS2
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (SEN)
• Knowledge of assessment and pupil progress tracking
