Position: Cover Supervisor (Secondary Schools)

Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Heathfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, particularly those considering a future career in teaching.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused and engaged. This role does not require lesson planning but does require strong classroom management and the ability to build rapport quickly.

This position is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school support staff seeking flexible work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences using pre-prepared materials.
• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people (in schools, coaching, tutoring, or similar).
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• A confident and adaptable approach.
• A genuine interest in education.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
