Job Title: Teacher of Drama

Location: Aylesbury

Start: Easter 2026

Full Time: Temporary to Permanent

Salary: £29,344-£44,919

The challenge:

Would you be willing to face the challenge of inspiring confidence in students with a wide range of hidden talents?

A Drama Teacher must inspire confidence in students of all abilities while managing lively, fast‑paced classrooms and maintaining a positive learning environment. The role requires creative lesson planning, and supporting students through performance anxiety, creative setbacks, and teamwork challenges.

A day in the life:

  • Adapt and tailor your routines for specific needs, to help students with additional needs clearly understand the subjects.
  • Communicate clearly with not only your pupils, but parents and other staff, in order to build rapport.
  • Deliver carefully designed lessons to make topics enjoyable, comprehensible and fun!
  • Support and encourage learning, and positive outlooks, in order to build confidence in children.
  • Track the development and progress consistently throughout terms to ensure complete understanding of each topic.

What success looks like:

Good performance in this role is reflected in confident, engaged students who enjoy taking creative risks and demonstrate noticeable growth in teamwork, communication, and self‑expression. Lessons feel energetic and purposeful, with a positive classroom atmosphere. Showcasing students’ strengths and enthusiasm, and receiving positive feedback from the school community.

What you’ll bring:

  • QTS or qualifications in other relevant subjects

    (Unqualified teachers feel free to apply!)

  • Has a clear understanding of the national curriculum, and can arrange exciting drama lessons to fit it.
  • Has experience working with children in a school setting and genuinely enjoys supporting them through creative encouragement.
  • Builds safe, trusting relationships with students, where they feel comfortable to be themselves.
  • Engages thoughtfully with contrasting creative ideas, encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect.
