Science Teacher – Full-Time, Long-Term Position

Location: Watford
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026


About the School

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Watford, recognised for its strong academic outcomes, inclusive ethos, and supportive learning environment. The school promotes a culture where both students and staff are encouraged to thrive and succeed.

Due to forward planning for the new academic year, the school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September 2026.

This opportunity is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are enthusiastic about delivering engaging and accessible science education.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, practical Science lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students

  • Teach within your specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics preferred)

  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity and scientific enquiry

  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and collaborate with the wider Science department

  • Support GCSE students with exam preparation, coursework, and revision strategies

  • Encourage involvement in STEM enrichment activities such as clubs and science events

  • Play an active role in the wider life of the school


Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
    (strong unqualified candidates will also be considered)

  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for science education

  • Creative, student-centred teaching approach

  • Effective classroom management with high expectations for all learners

  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
