Role: Secondary Supply Teacher
Location: Brighton and Hove
Contract: Part-Time / Flexible Supply
Start Date: Ongoing from September 2026
Daily Rate: £120 – £145

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Brighton and Hove, who are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to join them on a flexible basis. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexibility while continuing to make a positive impact in local schools.

About the Role

As a Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with opportunities in KS5 where applicable), covering planned absences, short-term placements, or ad hoc daily supply. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Adapt teaching to suit a range of learning abilities and classroom settings
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils
• Follow lesson plans provided, with flexibility to respond to pupil needs
• Assess and monitor pupil progress where required
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and wider school communities

Candidate Profile

• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (KS3 and KS4 essential)
• Strong subject knowledge (subject specialism desirable but not essential)
• A flexible, confident, and proactive approach
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their development

Requirements

• UK Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
• Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Two professional teaching references
• Eligibility to work in the UK
