A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Cover Supervisor to join a well-regarded secondary school in Salisbury. This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible, with a possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for individuals with a genuine passion for education and those considering a career in teaching, offering invaluable experience in a supportive school environment.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into classrooms during teacher absence, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students stay focused on their learning. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and support students across a range of subjects and year groups.

While lesson planning and marking are not required, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment and upholding the school’s high standards. Confidence, adaptability, and strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans in the teacher’s absence
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and purposeful classroom environment
• Encourage student engagement and positive behaviour
• Provide support to pupils where appropriate
• Supervise classes across different subjects and year groups
• Promote the school’s values and uphold safeguarding standards
