Design Technology Teacher – Secondary School in Radlett
Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire
Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)

We are collaborating with a respected secondary school in Radlett that takes pride in its inclusive environment and strong support system for both students and staff. Known for its emphasis on creativity, innovation, and practical learning, the school is looking to appoint a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is enthusiastic about inspiring students in the fields of design and technology, and who is eager to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking department at the start of the new academic year. The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching Design Technology to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, with Key Stage 5 teaching experience considered a desirable advantage. You may cover areas such as product design, resistant materials, graphics, and CAD/CAM. You will be expected to plan engaging lessons, support students in developing practical skills, and maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and creative Design Technology lessons

  • Encourage hands-on learning through a variety of design and manufacturing projects

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

  • Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials in the workshop

  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery

  • Participate in wider school activities and responsibilities

Candidate Profile

  • QTS or equivalent (preferred but not essential)

  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level

  • Strong knowledge of the DT curriculum and workshop safety

  • Creative and practical teaching style

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
