Position: Cover Supervisor – Lewes

Location: Lewes, East Sussex Pay: £100–£130 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications) Hours: 08:30am – 3:30pm Contract: Flexible – Full-Time & Part-Time Roles Available

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee full classes during short‑term teacher absences, ensuring students stay focused and complete the work provided. This position suits aspiring teachers, graduates, experienced cover staff, and subject specialists confident in leading lessons within their area of expertise.

Key Duties

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects using pre‑prepared lesson materials

• Deliver cover in your subject specialism where appropriate

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Keep pupils engaged and ensure work is completed

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and behaviour

• Maintain safeguarding standards and promote pupil wellbeing

Requirements

• Experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Confidence leading a full class independently

• Subject specialism (desirable but not essential)

• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Professional, reliable and flexible approach
