Drama is more than performance — it’s about confidence, expression, collaboration and critical thinking. If you see teaching Drama as a way to inspire creativity, develop communication skills and help young people find their voice, this could be the role for you. Join a supportive secondary school where creativity is valued, teamwork is strong and staff wellbeing is taken seriously.

Your responsibilities:

•        Teaching and supporting a range of learners by adapting drama activities, rehearsal techniques and performance tasks to suit different needs and abilities.

•        Communicating clearly with colleagues, support staff and parents to ensure students receive consistent and effective support.

•        Encouraging students’ creative, emotional and personal development by building confidence, resilience, independence and collaboration skills.

•        Planning and delivering engaging Drama lessons that explore performance, devising, scripted work and theatre skills, inspiring creativity and self‑expression.

•        Using strong, subject‑specific vocabulary to help students analyse performances, understand dramatic techniques and evaluate their own and others’ work.

•        Assessing student progress through practical performance work, written reflection and discussion, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.

Who We’re Hoping to Meet:

•        QTS is desirable, though unqualified teachers or applicants with relevant drama, theatre or education experience are welcome to apply.

•        Experience working with children or young people in a school or performance setting, with a genuine passion for Drama and the performing arts.

•        An ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, colleagues and parents, creating a safe and inclusive creative space.

•        Confidence working as part of a collaborative department and contributing to the wider cultural and creative life of the school.
