We are seeking a motivated and experienced Maths Teacher to take on a Second in Department role within a thriving secondary school in the Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership and continued development of a forward-thinking Maths department, with a strong focus on raising standards and student achievement.

You will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, supporting colleagues, and fostering a positive and aspirational learning environment where all students can succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Supporting the Head of Maths with the leadership and management of the department
• Delivering high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Contributing to curriculum planning and development
• Mentoring and supporting colleagues within the department
• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
• Promoting a positive and engaging learning environment
• Driving improvement initiatives within the Maths department

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
• Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
• Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students
• Leadership potential or experience within a department
• A proactive, enthusiastic and reflective approach
• Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all students
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
