A well-regarded secondary school in the Fareham area is seeking a dedicated and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a temporary basis. The Role
You will support teaching and learning across the school, delivering pre-planned lessons when required and working closely with teaching staff to keep students engaged and progressing. The successful candidate will be adaptable, organised, and confident managing groups of students independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
  • Support students’ learning across a range of subjects
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to raise attainment
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching and pastoral staff

Requirements

  • HLTA status or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, positive, and professional approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
