Learning Support Assistant – East Grinstead

Location: East Grinstead & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time / Part-Time – Flexible Days Daily Rate: £92.63 – £110 Hours: School hours (typically 08:30–15:30)

This Learning Support Assistant role is ideal for someone who wants to help children who need additional support to feel confident and succeed in the classroom. Whether you have experience in education, care, youth work or are looking to begin a rewarding new path, this role offers the chance to make a positive impact every day.

We’re looking for patient, caring and reliable Learning Support Assistants to work across primary and secondary schools in East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. You’ll support pupils who need extra help with learning, behaviour or emotional wellbeing, working closely with teachers to create a calm and inclusive environment.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs one‑to‑one or in small groups

  • Helping children stay focused, engaged and confident throughout the school day

  • Assisting teachers with classroom routines, activities and learning tasks

  • Creating a positive, safe and supportive space for all pupils

  • Adapting to different schools, age groups and individual needs

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, youth work or similar)

  • A calm, patient and understanding approach

  • Confidence working in different school settings

  • A genuine interest in helping children progress and feel valued

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
