RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER

Location: Aylesbury
Start: September 2026
Full Time: Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £29,344–£44,919

Your role is to teach them how to support them.

As a Religious Education Teacher, you will deliver structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, helping students explore beliefs, ethics, and perspectives using clear reasoning and evidence.

Key responsibilities
Teach RE across KS3 and KS4
Guide structured discussion and debate
Support extended written responses
Teach ethical and philosophical concepts clearly
Maintain respectful and focused classroom environment
Prepare students for GCSE assessment

The classroom environment
Discussion is controlled and purposeful
Students respect different viewpoints
Lessons are structured and clear
Behaviour expectations are consistent

Skills and experience
Experience teaching RE or humanities subjects
Strong communication and questioning skills
Ability to manage discussion effectively
Clear and structured teaching approach

What success looks like
Students justify their answers
Written responses improve
Discussion becomes more thoughtful
Lessons remain calm and focused

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with Theology, Philosophy, or humanities backgrounds
