About the Role

This school is seeking a Drama Teacher who understands that excellent drama teaching requires both creativity and control. You will deliver Drama lessons across KS3 and KS4, supporting students to develop confidence, performance skills, collaboration, and analytical thinking.

Drama is taught as a serious academic subject as well as a practical discipline, and students are expected to engage actively and respectfully.

Role Responsibilities

  • Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan structured lessons incorporating practical outcomes
  • Teach performance techniques, character development, and scripting
  • Support GCSE Drama coursework and practical assessments
  • Encourage student reflection and evaluation
  • Manage active lessons safely and effectively
  • Create a purposeful rehearsal and performance environment
  • Build student confidence and communication skills

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience teaching Drama in a secondary school
  • Confidence leading practical lessons
  • Strong organisational and classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage reluctant learners
  • Clear understanding of assessment objectives
